Vacancy:  Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) – Permanent Position.

About us 

Our growing independent company is based in Norfolk with a nationwide client base.

We currently have two certificated RPA/RWAs and an RPA/RWA trainee, who will be fully certificated within the next two years. Our team is complemented by three admin staff.

We provide RPA/RWA services to a broad range of clients in the dental, veterinary and specialist medical fields. Other sectors that we provide services for are diverse, and include food, non-destructive testing, pharmaceutical industry, transport, universities and the assessment of contaminated shipments.

We also provide educational services including RPS courses for x-ray and open and closed source users, CPD (e.g. in dental and veterinary fields) and bespoke radiation protection courses to all our client sectors.

Our rapid growth, particularly in the past 4 years, finds us continuing to expand our client base geographically, with an imminent move into new custom designed office premises (including training facilities) as well as increasing the number of staff in our team.

Who are we looking for?

  • A confident, enthusiastic and effective communicator with excellent time management skills, who is able to provide well written reports.
  • An individual who is keen to continue their own learning and skill set and is willing to cascade their knowledge to mentor and motivate trainee staff.
  • An individual who wants to join a happy, friendly, conscientious team.

 Qualifications and Skills Required/Considered:

A Certificate of Competence to be a Radiation Protection Adviser.

A Certificate (or working toward a certificate ) of Competence to be a Radioactive Waste Adviser is desirable but not essential.

Medical Physics Expert experience would also be considered as positively supporting the application.

A full UK driving licence.

Be able to carry out on site client visits/audits/equipment monitoring.

Be able to provide radiation protection advice to our clients and assist them in achieving regulatory compliance for their sector.

An ability to teach on training courses, or a willingness to learn the skills required for this.

A high standard of written and computer competence.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Although our offices are located in Norfolk, there are opportunities to work remotely when writing reports. Relocation is not necessarily a requirement.

This position includes the use of a car, a generous annual leave entitlement and company pension scheme.

Salary is dependent on qualification and experience.
