Radiation Awareness Course

3 hour course 10am – 1pm – Microsoft Teams Interactive Live Course

Target Audience

All those engaged in work with ionising radiation as a result of the use of the X-Rays within their workplace, who need to know (or refresh their knowledge) how to work safely and reduce the risks to their health.

Course Aims

Our radiation awareness courses are designed to give delegates initial and refresher ‘core’ and ‘practical’ knowledge training to help them work safely, develop and sustain a commitment to restricting exposure and to ensure their health and safety, wherever it is reasonable practicable.

This course will give delegates the knowledge and the understanding of legislation relevant to their use of ionising radiation, in order to help them carry out their roles more confidently and effectively. It will also outline the importance of complying with the medical, technical and administrate requirements of the applicable regulations.

Although some employees may not be closely involved with working with X-Rays, it is a requirement that suitable and proportionate information or instruction is given to avoid being unnecessarily exposed to ionising radiation.

Please note:

Following any initial radiation protection training there is a requirement for refresher training to be scheduled at regular intervals, to maintain levels of competence. This is generally accepted as being at intervals between 3, but not exceeding, five years.
