The UK Government have taken the decision to place the country into another lockdown from November 5th to try and slow the spread of coronavirus. With this in mind, SG&A are adapting how we carry out annual visits to clients.
What you need to know about your radiation protection advice
Under the current circumstances dealing with Covid-19 we are all committed to ensuring the health, wellbeing and safety of our clients, our staff, and the wider community.
We have therefore taken the decision to defer all routine visits to our clients until current lockdown restrictions are lifted.
Whilst this is a change from our standard procedure it will not affect your ongoing compliance with the regulations – where guidance to the laws indicates that while some x-ray equipment does require annual radiological testing, for other units it must be undertaken ‘at least once’ in a three year period. Be assured that if you have equipment that requires annual radiological testing we will visit you as soon as it is safe to do so.
Anyone using isotopes/sources who also require annual visits, the current crisis will override the requirement to visit even if due soon, and we will ensure that we organise further visits as soon as possible.
While we may be cancelling visits in November, we will continue to work and provide remote, telephone and email support throughout this time. The RPAs will be writing reports and these will continue to be sent to you with the invoice for services.
We will also be sending out ‘Interim Audits’ for those clients who we are unable to visit and have review dates in November/December. This will ensure you still receive a report update for this year and when the situation improves a visit to you would be prioritised if there is any information in the interim audit questionnaire which indicates this would be needed.
Should you require our services for Critical Examination and Acceptance Test or Inspection of Plans please do contact us, we are still able to complete these for you.
Our training courses which are delivered via Microsoft Teams will still be taking place as planned.
